Topics and things i would like to write about:
- how to be alone together (about couples and relationships, how to be able to fully be one so that we can be 2gether). This topic seems to be kept silent around couples, not wanting to acknowledge the fact that to be in love and live with someone are not always things that should go hand-in-hand;
- how i can become mediocre if i dont spend time alone and create stuff;
- the need of loneliness in a creative life.

We are just about to hit the flickr Montreal party, i get a strange feeling when i see all the ‘word of mouth’ going on about the event.
People sending me messages and invites of all kind – but who are these people? Who’s really wanting me to party there tonight?
Who are these people, hired and paid to make me feel i should be there or i’ll be a looser?
This is the danger of Web 2.0!
Marketing people wearing cool flickr masks, its like a nightmare where i cannot clearly see who’s who!
Until when will flickr be the coolest? ‘Till this happens, i’ll be getting some free drinks at the event tonite – trying to remove masks from faces.

I have a fascination for artist’s workspace. Images of artist’s studios are inspiring me, making me travel into someone else’s world.
Chris posted a link to famous DJs’s living rooms. Favorites ones are Ellen Alien and Lawrence’s room.
Note to myself: I need to build up a collection of artists workspaces.

Excellent photos of personal work spaces of some german DJs (DJ Koze, Ritchie Hawtin, Ellen Allien, DJ Hell and many more; I know, not all are from Germany, but they live in Berlin, at least, and that for a good reason
).

It is a new experience for me to get one of my favorite author’s book just when it’s hitting the stands, while at the same time i can read on the author’s blog all the excitement she felt from having her work out.
I did not know what to expect from Wreck this journal, until i received my copy. Hell fun! — tear, rub, break, lick, stick, drag out, wash — carry it around with you, here is your new friend!
I see this book as a statement that in order to create freely, we as creative beings must be able to experiment, explore, polish and scratch over, disrupt, destroy and rebuild constantly – let go of preconceived ideas, just play in a innocent and almost savage way, as we did as kids, color on our fingers, over our faces. There is no right and wrong, just do it.
Let go. Let go! You should be playing!

“neurosis,
only attaches itself to fertile ground,
where it can flourish
(…)
fear is a powerful drug,
overcome it and,
you think that you can do,
anything!
(…)
fear of losing energy,
is draining
it locks up your chest,
shuts down the heart,
miserly ,
and stingy,
let’s open up : share!”
Lyrics from Innocence.
I’ve been listening to Björk’s Volta since weeks, walking around Manhattan and bike riding along Montreal’s bike paths with the african beats of Earth Intruders and Hyperballad’s version 2007 Wanderlust.
Sounding a little chaotic at first, i thought of this album as a retrospective of Björk’s work – but in fact no. I realized that the main difference in this album was that for the fist time in Björk’s work, i could clearly hear and feel the influences of other pop-eletro singer-songwriters women of the last years, the like M.I.A, Peaches and PJ Harvey.
Fascinating to see how this icon who inspired many is now herself remixing these inspirations on a new ground, opening herself with powerful lyrics no one should ignore, where she is clearly pointing fear as being a drug, and at our own responsibility for the lifes we get.
No need to say the artwork for this record is truly amazing.
“I have lost my origin
and I don’t want to find it again
rather sailing into nature’s laws
and be held by ocean’s paws
wanderlust!
relentlessly craving wanderlust
peel off the layers
until you get to the core
(…)
lust for comfort
suffocates the soul
this relentless
restlessness
liberates me
sets me free
I feel at home whenever
the unknown surrounds me
I receive its embrace
aboard my floating house”
From Wanderlust.
