A cat’s life

A dream life? Sleeping, naping, eating, curling into bed, getting love and affection all day long, being spoiled, playing all day long (when not sleeping),

I would love if my cats could write a book. I guess it would be called “how to relax and enjoy life all year long and not worry about who will pay the rent next month”…

Essential blogging

Essential blogging
book cover.

Why should books about serious things (like programming) should have serious – even boring – looking covers? How interesting it was for me to find out about the idea and the illustrator behind O’Reilly covers…

Under electric light

A new site is born! and a new star too…
I just finished, after months of procrastination, the web site for my friend Dan.
* Under electric light

If you like new order, electro pop inspired from the 80’s, nice made melodies, go on. The music section has some samples for your ears to be delighted.

Writing down the bones

Writing Down the Bones:
Freeing the Writer Within

Just do it… that’s what i kept in mind reading “writing as a practice”. This 3 pages chapter was worth the book, even if i hav’nt read the whole book yet…

This chapter could have been called “drawing as a practice” and it still would have made sense to me. In fact, it could be apply at anything, painting, signing, dancing, playing, sculpting, and so on.

“Like running, the more you do it, the better you get at it. Some days, you don’t want to run and you resist every step of the three miles, but you do it anyway. You practice whether you want to or not. You don’t wait around for inspiration and a deep desire to run. It’ll never happen, especially if you are out of shape and have been avoiding it. Bur if you run regularly, you train your mind to cut through or ignore your resistance. You just do it. And in the middle of the run, your love it. When you come to the end, you never want to stop. And you stop, hungry for the next time.”

Does this make any sense to you? It does a lot to me…

Chicken Soup for the Traveler’s Soul:
Stories of Adventure, Inspiration and Insight to Celebrate the Spirit of Travel

This month, on my bookshelve are many books, and they look all worth reading. In the pile is “Chicken Soup for the Traveler’s Soul: Stories of Adventure, Inspiration and Insight to Celebrate the Spirit of Travel”. I already pass thru half of the book, and most of the stories are really inspiring.

Its a good way to travel risk free, from your comfortable bed :)

What do you eat for breakfast?

Ok, there is time for a pause well deserved. I have worked more on my personal projects in 3 days then in the lasts 2 months.

Coming back from holidays i got totally depressed, but then i got back on my feet, stronger than i have been since long. I decided to (this time its true) commit myself to some yoga everyday. Now that i felt that i finally have the time i always wanted to realize all of what’s on my mind, i found myself without energy to do it.
So, a rapid thinking brought me to the fact that the best way i know to get on my feet on to feel good is to do some yoga.

“First, do not panic”, that’s what i tell myself most often these days. Stay calm, keep fit, everything will be alright, but — do not panic!

So yeah, nothing better than a daily dose of yoga to keep me relax (as much as i can be relax!) and (a bit) centered.

And it works, for now. Of course, i can already see myself so busy and into panic that i will totally forget about it in some days, but the important thing is that i did it for the last 4 days and i feel great. I did more in these last 4 days than i could have hoped.

well, that wasn’t what i wanted to write about…

***

What did you ate for breakfast?

i have big problem finding cereals that fits to my diet.
I try to avoid white sugar, white flour, so it gets really tricky
to find something good, and for cereals, even worse.

what i wanted to write about is
– Rediscovering our power as customers –

I mostly read what’s written on the packages of the food i eat,
and as a compulsive complainer, this is the perfect thing to complain
about. Too much sugar, no brown sugar, no brown floor, no fruits,
artificial color, flavors, …

but today i woke up and wondered, why are we not letting our
voices be heard? why am i not stopping my complaining sessions
and instead sending emails to these company asking them to make
yummie cereals that would be good for my body&soul?

i think we too often take the bad habit of complaining and not realizing
our power…

so, yes, i am going to send emails, many emails, with all my wish,
and i hope i will be heard. Wanna join me?

holland pictures!

Uff… what a long entry it is…
so, there are some pictures of my trip to holland, some succulent memories!

There is a page of my diary, the 3th day i was there. I was really confused, tired, and lonely. When going on a journey alone be ready for the best moments of your life, but also the worse ones… But its worth it all the way!
