hu oh, what’s up?
After spending time watching clouds and green grass yesterday afternoon (not talking here about my first sunburn of the year, yay!) i’ve been working at the fimav yesterday evening, watching these austrian guys doing their thing before going the the fly pan am show at 12h.
These are dream holidays for me, attending 2 shows in a row, and knowing it will be like that for some days.
I wonder how it does feel for these guys to arrive here in victoriaville, my hometown, out of fucking nowhere, playing in front of the weardest weirdoes coming from all around the world to see them play here. Musicians are coming from england, austria, usa, france, japan, brasil and australia. It is so strange to me to see these band playing here, at the colisée des bois franc, where i saw voivoid as a teenager, at the cinema laurier, where i have seen my first movie on screen, and at the cegep, where bands are playing in the same room where i once had a radio show, where we spent time listening to music instead of going to class, where we burned records we didn’t liked before throwing them out of the window. I remember listening to ride’s nowhere, laying outside in the grass watching the blue sky before a psychology class, 10 years ago.
Yesterday, the cegep auditorium was filled with young and older folks, all coming to see Fly pan am’s performance. I’ve heard their hard to describe – progressivefunckrockemometalpunk – music for the first time there. God it was loud, but it was good.
I will be seeing 2 shows tonight again, the sun is still shinning, what else could i ask for?
