New Order, All the Way

It doesn’t take a genius to tell me what I am
Or lecture me with poetry
And tell me that I can
I don’t remember what happened yesterday
But I don’t give a damn about what all those people say.
It takes years to find the nerve
To be apart from what you’ve done
To find the truth inside yourself
And not depend on anyone

It don’t take no Houdini
To tell me what I am
Parasites and literasites
They’d burn me if they can
But I don’t give a damn about what those people say
They pick you up and kick you out
They hurt you every day.

It takes years to find the nerve
To be apart from what you’ve done
To find the truth inside yourself
And not depend on anyone.

New Order, All the Way from the album Technique. Dream attack and Mr Disco are as nice as the sky, when it is blue.

  1. J’ai cet album en vinyl quelque part dans le sous sol de mes parents (à coté d’autres perles comme psychocandy des JMC et Meat is murder des Smiths) ça me rappelle des souvenirs…

  2. Technique is probably the most important album that New Order has ever made. I almost cried when you said that Postal Service has replaced New Order in your heart. But I also have to be honest because I feel that New Order has not been “New Order” since Technique. When you write songs like “Love less” and “Dream attack,” you win. Happy New Year to you.

for me, it is. It is the last one i feel that is complete in itself. each song is vibrant unlike albums that followed

They did not really replaced them, they took a place that was free, since New Order’s latest albums did not meant that much to me (not that they were not any good, again, lets say they were just not as influential anymore)

I am still really greatfull for all of what they did and i’ve always, and will still appreciate their work 🙂

  4. I see and I agree with your replies. It seems like all of the pre-Technique Albums hinted toward something greater, something magnificent, and I really feel that Technique was it. That is a tough act to follow. Although, I still listen to Electronic’s “Electronic” and Revenge’s “One True Passion” everyday. I don’t think that it would be possible to make another Technique, or anything close to it. It is what it is.
