We are jealous, and envious, of the european train system, and wonder why north america is still left without high speed train in most commuted travel lines (such as NYC – Montreal!). When will we move on? Read more about the topic,

Some days left before i’ll turn double-three, on the thirty.
I am trying to spend this week consciously, with time for myself everyday. I know its not like i dont already have this habit of regularly taking time off for myself, but this week it has peaked at priority #1, since my birthday is always the best time for me to stop and send my dream wishes up to the sky, the universe, the cosmos, and whatever there is after the cosmos.
Only, i’ve got no idea of what gift to get to myself – for the first time in my life, i can say i’ve got everything i want, since i lately took the habit to just go-and-get-what-i-want. What i wish now is more free time and travels, and all the freedom i can get in all areas of my life. I dream of a safari, of time spent in nature, of countries i’ve seen only virtually. I’m dreaming of a life where there is no borders, but harmony in every details.
Of course flowers and dinners have and will always be welcomed for this special day, but the greatest gift will still be to come, hopefully soon. ’till then, i’ll wish for some Superhero joy necklace and colorful bracelets to find their way to me!

The thing i most love about NYC is the freedom of choice when its about fashion – wear your favorite head-to-toe-rainbow-jumpsuit and no one’s gonna mind. One thing i least love about NYC is all the fashionata slaves women – they abound everywhere.

This is just a part of an absolutely amazing piece by this Quebec born artist, to see at www.andrearosengallery

Eyewear Shopping: I bought some, not the ones you see me here with… but i still love these, that is why i took a picture. What do you think?

i totally felt in love with Agatha Ruiz’s clothes – colorful, lovable, reality sizes available, and affordable. NY Soho, wooster street

What i most totally enjoyed in this trip is the time i spent alone in my favorite coffee places. After spending 3 trips running around in the city, i felt it was time just to have this trip to enjoy the places i like, and discover a few new ones.

Free, really!

Dancers, Union Square

Rare Device Brooklyn, last days: the shop was full, and so small. Now closed, new location in SF.

Lotta Jansdotter, Design Brooklyn: At the Design Brooklyn event, i found Lotta introducing herself to me while i was looking around – i did not expect her to be there and to be so available, i just could not find anything to say, shut off by suprise!

Orchids on streetcorner, Mother’s day: little glimpse of nature and fragility in the middle of busyness

Me @ Moma: The moma is, the moma. Top floor exhibition is a must, the cafe is also a must, and the moma shop is absolutely and completely over priced.

I’ve got so much to write, and dont know where to start, dont know if everything is really meant to be shared here – i dont think so.
Pictures and reflections about my last trip to New York might come soon. As it always happen when i travel, a wonderful new energy has infused me, sparkled by this one week off from busy-ness and worries.
Right now, i am busy using this new creative energy to clean my soul off from accumulated dust.

A week without the internet and phone was great – but there is a lot to catch on now. I’ll be back with pictures and thoughts about this last week in NYC, this as soon as can have my suitcase unloaded, and the cats sleeping (they missed us so, they stick to us like glue!)

We’re about to head to New York City, once more. At this time of the year, the city is a must. Of course, it is nothing like the nature and stillness i crave for, but a vibrant on-the-go city like New York has a unique energy which i always feel compelled to be part of.
I’ve got to travel a little after this long winter, be on the go for adventures, this to feel myself alive again, see-hear-feel new things, get a little sense of newness and freedom, so bear with me while i’ll be visiting Rare Device Brooklyn shop (just before it closes), PictureBox, some of the best Gluten free and vegan restaurants (Babycakes), some rare venues such as MonkeyTownHQ where we’ll see a live performance via skype while enjoying our meal, Etsy labs, Marimekko store, art galleries, museums, parties and so on. No schedule, just us and the city.

I am a big fan of the Tate Modern museum in London. I have never seen a boring exhibition there and I love the architecture of the building. Many of you might not know but the Tate Modern is organizing a lot of artist talks, symposiums and conferences as well. In 2003 I have been attending user_mode, a 3 day conference about emotion and intuition in design and art. It was a great conference with very interesting speakers: Joshua Davis (Praystation), Lev Manovich (love his book), Simon Biggs and many more.
But now the great news: The Tate Modern put their video archive of all their events online and they will continue to record all their events! That’s great news if you are interested in artists like Joep van Lieshout (who confesses in that video that he has to build a phallic sculpture every now and then), Thomas Hirschhorn, The Guerilla Girls and others. I’m busy watching videos from the archive since some days… one more argument for me to not buy a TV set!

Etsy is the coolest for handmade stuff – ThisNext (see my wishlist) is another social network, asking low commitment (exactly how i like them), strong in ergonomics – the coolest right now to find all kinds of creative jewels, handmade or not, which you wont find in stores. Here is for example a creative card game found on ThisNext.
Really cool finds, but beware to keep your wallet away!
