GM goes for blog, and podcasting!

Started in january 05, now getting a little more personal with the vice chairman himself starting to blog:

January 05th -
After years of reading and reacting to the automotive press, I finally get to put the shoe on the other foot. In the age of the Internet, anybody can be a “journalist.” This is the first of many commentaries I will make on this forum, and I’d like to begin with, surprise, some product talk -

January 08th -
Wow
I’m impressed with the passion and insight of you fastlane bloggers.

and then, on feb. 10th, their first podcast.

Italian readers?

The march issue of the Italian Glamour is out in italie – any reader from there would be so kind to send me a scan of the interview i gave to them?

The interview was about podcasting + some of my illustration stuff.

It might take weeks before i get my copies here…

Life Manifesto

All this stuff around podcasting inspired me – raising questions that are basically relating to me, my life and the way i choose to take on things.

I do claim the right to be wrong -
take the wrong decision,
choose the wrong path,
to make spelling mistakes,
to balble,
dable,
eeeee and aaaaaaa,
stumble on words ‘caus my english is not perfect.

Neither are my writing skills.
Neither am i.

But whatever it is that i feel like doing,
for sure there will always be someone else to do it better than i do.

So, why bother?

Morni’n

I’ve wrote here before about times when i am getting confused – sickness often follow with the confusedness i am in – about decisions i have to make or directions i have to take.

The easiest is often to just open a book, and read. Here’s for this morning:

‘Ideas are like seeds; when they fist come up you often don’t know what they’re going to grow into. Just keep following your joyful impulses, and your ideas will unforld into the forms that best serve you.’

‘all.

Podcasting manifesto

Before we’ll all get crazy about it, i think we should sit down and make some things clear about the home version of podcasting.

We all know about the technical aspect, and if you dont, you’ll soon figure out that setting up a podcast is pretty easy. A good setup is nice, but it is not the setup that matters, but the content.

So here’s my podcasting manifesto who will for sure grow with time. But there are some basic points which i would like to-be podcasters, and listeners, to know before hand.

1. A podcast should be loose and laid back -
‘caus it is not a professional radio show, neither amateur like. It is an underground movement that will evolve in itself as something new.

2. Recording should be spontaneous -
no editing please, and mistakes are more than welcome. Yeah, all ‘eeeee’ ‘aaaa’ ‘blblblbl’ are welcome too!

3. The prime goal is be to have fun -
fun for the podcaster and fun for the listeners, that’s pretty much about it.

4. Share -
about your passions, whatever they are.

5. Claim freedom -
a podcast can be recorded and listened to at anytime, from any place, and can be about mostly anything. What else to ask for?

The Go Find, New Order

The go find: Their album Miami is just astonishing. I am totally addicted to Igloo – just love the ‘ti ti ti ti ta ta ta ta’s’ cut’ voices from 2.30 ’till 2.50. An earthquake could take place while i am listening, i wouldn’t recognize.

New Order: Their new album Krafty is gonna be the next big thing this summer. Watch the video for Waiting for the siren’s call. Krafty will be released on March 7th in the UK (source: UEL)

Blogging as a full time job

As i said before, not without making some people smile (!), i do consider blogging as a part of my work, as an artist and entrepreneur.

Some others seem to think the same way as i.

Podcasts: the hot new thing

I got so hooked on listening to podcasts in rental cars with mp3 CD players that I went to a car audio shop yesterday to see what the aftermarket had to offer. When I told them I’d want a unit that allowed fast-forwarding and rewinding within selections (the players in the Ford Foci I’ve been renting only jump from file to file), the salesguy showed me a bunch of Alpine units that do exactly that.(…)

But dig what happened when I brought up the reason I need fast-forward/rewind: “I listen to a lot of —”

“Podcasts?” he said.

“Right.”

“Yeah, they’re the hot new thing. All the makers are starting to pay attention to podcasting.”
