Podcasting on osX – microphones

I’m currently working on making a little more professional setup – seems like the line in microphone on the pb g4 disappoint most people who thought like me, that plugging a mic into it would be easy and give a crisp and clear voice recording.

What happen is that the sound is not perceptible using a standard microphone in the pb line-in.

I have read that a usb mic could do the job (also here) instead of a standard microphone.

As it is, the imic is much talked about, since it’s an audio adapter, any standard mic should fit on or it can be used directly as a mic.

Any thoughts or hint welcome.
