Where Is America Going?
A conference presented by CUNY Graduate Center and the NY Open Center and cosponsored by AlterNet, the Nation, YES!, Utne, Mother Jones, WBAI radio, Resurgence and others. The event is May 2-4 at CUNY Graduate Center, New York.
This conference will focus on reaffirming values such as human rights, sustainability, renewable energies, diversity, ecological consciousness, and participatory democracy, and on further extending life-serving, sustainable alternatives that are in harmony with a healthy, multicultural, and socially positive world view. The event will feature panel discussions, strategy sessions, and resource materials from many organizations.

I was just speaking to my husband about a similar subject other day and wondered why the President doesn’t fight in wars anymore? If it was good enough for George Washington, c’mon. I think a President would think about it a bit more if he (or a family member for that matter) had to go to war himself.
